ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - Former St. Bonaventure softball catcher Amanda Davey has been named the North Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year following her second season in charge at Husson College (Maine).

Davey guided the Eagles to a 17-3 mark in conference play en route to the top seed in this season's NAC tournament. Under the guidance of Davey, six members of this year's Husson Club earned All-Conference honors in 2008 with one selection to the first team.

The Toronto, Ontario native was a three-year starter for the Bonnies behind the plate from 2001-03 under head coach Mike Threehouse after transferring to St. Bonaventure from Canisius College. Davey graduated from Bona with a bachelor's degree in management sciences.
